Helping Children Rise,

One Relationship at a Time

Neurodiversity-affirming psychological care that strengthens families, supports emotional growth, and honours each child’s unique way of being.

My Approach

At UP Child & Family Psychology, we believe behaviour is a form of communication—an invitation to understand what a child needs, not a problem to eliminate.

My work focuses on strengthening parent–child relationships and supporting parents as confident, emotionally attuned leaders. Through a neurodiversity-affirming and developmentally informed lens, we look beneath behaviour to the emotional and relational systems that shape it, creating space for lasting growth and connection.

Meet Dr. Sharon

I believe understanding changes what becomes possible.

Hi, I’m Dr. Sharon, a registered child psychologist and the founder of UP Child & Family Psychology.

Much of my work begins with a simple shift in perspective: instead of asking only “How do we stop this behaviour?”, we become curious about “What is this child showing us?”

I take a warm, collaborative and developmentally informed approach to helping children and families make sense of challenges, recognize strengths, and find ways forward that feel meaningful and sustainable. At the heart of my work is the belief that children grow best when they feel understood—and families feel more confident when they understand their child.
